Starting in March 2011, Bellator Fighting Championships will begin airing on MTV2.
For the next three years, MMA fans will be able to watch the 12-week, eight-man tournament on MTV2, which targets the 12-34 range. Pretty much right in the wheelhouse of the MMA demographics.
Bellator will air two of its live tournaments on MTV2, plus additional special features.
“We are thrilled to partner with MTV2 which has such a strong audience of hard-to-reach young guys,” Bellator Chairman and CEO Bjorn Rebney said in a statement. “With a timeslot on a prominent nationally-distributed cable network aimed at young men, we now have the perfect platform to showcase our exciting, action-packed tournaments and fighters.”
MMA and the MTV networks have a relationship already as Strikeforce fighter Jason "Mayhem" Miller hosts the show "Bully Beatdown."
