The week of Sept. 12-18 is Texas Tech Week down in Austin, Texas. The Texas Longhorns will spend those seven days after a game against Wyoming preparing for the rival Aggies.

In between Longhorn pep rallies and Mack Brown press conferences, on Wednesday, Sept. 15, the UT campus will host UFC Fight Night 22 featuring Demian Maia and Alan Belcher in the main event.

It's the first fight for Maia (12-2) since Anderson Silva embarassed him (and some say himself) at UFC 112 in April. If Belcher (15-5) can win against the Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace, he's right in line for a shot at Silva's middleweight title (or Chael Sonnen's, should he beat Silva at UFC 117 on Aug. 7).

Also on the card, lightweights Mac Danzig and Matt Wiman get the rematch they deserve after the awful refereeing at UFC 115.

As the UFC looks to rebuild its stable of lightweight contenders, Fight Night features TUF 9 champ Ross Pearson (13-3) against Cole Miller (16-4), and Jim Miller (17-2) against Gleison Tibau (31-6). Of those four 155-pounders, Pearson and Jim Miller look the most ready to make a run.

And when you're done watching Fight Night, keep your television tuned to Spike for the start of Season 12 of "The Ultimate Fighter" with coaches Georges St-Pierre and Josh Koscheck.
