With his first UFC losing streak over, Dennis Bermudez is ready to get back in the Octagon.
Lindenhurst’s Bermudez will face Rony Jason in a featherweight bout in August at UFC Fight Night 92 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Bermudez (15-5, 8-3 UFC) is coming off a unanimous decision win against Tatsuya Kawajiri at UFC Fight Night 83 in February. Before the bounce-back victory, Bermudez had lost to Jeremy Stephens and Ricardo Lamas. He is No. 9 in the featherweight rankings.
Jason (14-5, 1 NC), whose real name is Rony Mariano Bezerra, has not fought since May 2015. In that bout, he defeated Damon Jackson with a triangle choke in the first round, but the result later was overturned after Jason tested positive for a banned diuretic. He was suspended for nine months and lost his $50,000 performance bonus.
The August 6 card is headlined by a featherweight bout between No. 13 Yair Rodriguez and Alex “Bruce Leeroy” Caceres. The card also features another featherweight contest between No. 6 Cub Swanson and No. 14 Kawajiri.
