Gina Carano's return to the cage has been delayed because she did not receive medical clearance, Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker said Tuesday.
Carano had been scheduled to fight Sarah D'Alelio on June 18 at Strikeforce in Dallas.
“I’m certainly disappointed not to be fighting on June 18th," Carano said in a statement. "I’d like to thank Greg Jackson and Team Jackson for such an amazing camp. I hope this is only a brief setback.”
The lightweight fight between KJ Noons and Jorge Masvidal will move to the main card airing on Showtime.
Carano hasn't fought since losing to Cris "Cyborg" Santos in August 2009 and took some time off to film the Steven Soderbergh movie "Haywire."
No reason was given for Carano's revoked medical license.
