Yes, it is true that Jay Hieron and Jake Ellenberger once before.

It is also true that they fought each other more than six years ago and that their previous encounter in a cage bears no relevance now as they prepare for UFC on FX 5 on Friday in Minneapolis.

Six years makes quite a bit of difference. Trying to draw comparisons is futile. So we won't bother doing that here.

However, we will give you this quote from our interview with Hieron (23-5), which made us giggle a bit:

“I always like fighting undefeated guys. They always remember me. I’m their first L."

Ellenberger (pictured) was 12-0 as a pro when he lost a decision to Hieron in the IFL on June 3, 2006. He's now 27-6.
