UFC president Dana White made it official on his Twitter account a few minutes ago: Jon Jones will make his next title defense at UFC 140 in Toronto on Dec. 10, 2011, against Lyoto Machida.

Jones won the belt from Mauricio "Shogun" Rua last March. Rua had won it from Machida, who then lost a split decision to Quinton "Rampage" Jackson who then lost to Jones. Somewhere in between all that, Machida knocked out Randy Couture.

Jones was originally going to fight Rashad Evans -- again! -- but Evans suffered a hand injury against Tito Ortiz at UFC 133 in August and won't be ready in time. At last count, that is the 403rd time an injury has delayed Evans' title shot.
