There was one takedown attempted by Jonny Bonilla-Bowman, and it came in the final 10 seconds of the fight.

Instead, the former wrestler at Hofstra and Virginia Tech, used his arms and legs to punch and kick his way to a split-decision victory in his Bellator debut Friday night in Fresno, California. Bowman defeated Art Becerra in a featherweight bout at Bellator 125, with the judges scoring it 29-28, 28-29, 29-28.

Bowman (3-0), a Serra-Longo fighter, absorbed a good number of punches from Becerra in the first round. But as the fight continued in the second and the third round, Bowman emerged with consistent leg kicks that slowed Becerra.

The redness and purpleness of Becerra's left leg grew more visible as the fight continued. At certain points in the third round, Becerra could be seen hobbling slightly after Bowman landed his kicks.
