For all of Benny Alloway's ability to avoid taking much damage, this much can be said: Ryan LaFlare spent 15 minutes putting him in disadvantageous situations.
That's the nature of LaFlare, the Lindenhurst native who won his UFC debut by unanimous decisoin at UFC on Fuel TV 9 in Sweden on Saturday. All three judges scored it 30-27 for LaFlare (8-0).
LaFlare scored three takedowns in the first round and was able to control Alloway (13-5) and negate much offense. LaFlare landed several knees from a standing position and used his grappling skills to maintain body control.
LaFlare was in complete control of the entire fight and only found himself in one close situation. With about 90 seconds left in the third round, Alloway got LaFlare's back and had one hook in with both fighters on the ground and sitting up. LaFlare was able to spin around and get into top control.
