How a fighter responds in the first fight following a loss is always a question.
Randy Brown will get his first chance to answer that question in September.
Brown, a welterweight from Queens, will fight Erick Montano at UFC Fight Night 94 in Hidalgo, Texas, on Sept. 17. It is scheduled to be the featured prelim bout on UFC Fight Pass. Dustin Poirier and Michael Johnson headline the main card at State Farm Arena.
Brown (7-1, 1-1 UFC) won his UFC debut last January after being discovered during a Ring of Combat show in New Jersey in November 2015 as part of UFC president Dana White’s new reality show about traveling across the country to find new talent.
Brown followed it up with a loss to Michael Graves via second-round submission in April.
This will be the first fight for Montano (8-3) since winning Season 2 of “TUF: Latin America” last November. Montano beat Enrique Marin via split decision.
