Strikeforce weigh-ins and predictions

All fighters made weight Friday night, so the championship fights at Strikeforce: Nashville tonight (9 p.m., CBS) are all set to go.

Weigh-in video is below, but first, some predictions on the title fights.

Dan Henderson vs. Jake Shields (middleweight championship)

Shields is the champion, but Henderson is the star of the promotion. His signing with Strikeforce late last year instead of re-upping with the UFC was just as big as the Fedor signing, perhaps bigger. At least for American fans who are more familiar with Hendo's work inside the Octagon.

Given that, Henderson has all the pressure on him here. Good thing for him he's one of the best mixed martial artists out there. Shields is extremely talented, as well, so this fight should be a good one.

The pick: Henderson.

Gilbert Melendez vs. Shinya Aoki (lightweight championship)

Perhaps the most intriguing of the three title fights, this is the first time champions from different promotions put their belts on the line. Melendez is the Strikeforce champ, Aoki the Dream champ. You may remember Aoki from the Dream fight on New Year's Eve when he broke his opponent's arm then flipped him the bird.

Melendez is among the top lightweights in the world, and if he can win here, coupled with BJ Penn's loss to Frankie Edgar, he'll move the 155-pound rankings.

The pick: Melendez

Gegard Mousasi vs. King Mo Lawal (light heavyweight championship)

Mousasi was our pick at the end of 2009 to be the rising star of 2010, so of course, we're going to pick him to win this bout. King Mo is a good fighter and a great talker, but Mousasi has 205-pound skills you only see in the UFC.

The pick: Mousasi
