Georges St-Pierre has said he likes to fight just two or three times a year. He says it gives him enough time to re-invent himself as a fighter each time.
Yet, everyone knows that no matter what he says in public, once GSP is in the cage, he will look for takedowns and take advantage of his wrestling.
But in training for his welterweight title defense against Josh Koscheck at UFC 124 this Saturday, St-Pierre brought in legendary boxing coach Freddie Roach to help with his stand-up.
For those of you who know that name but don't recall from where, Roach is Manny Pacquiao's trainer.
"Before I knew him, I thought I knew about boxing," St-Pierre said, "but then I found out that I didn't. And he corrected a lot of stff for me,a nd I feel very confident now."
Roach has predicted a second-round knockout of Koscheck by GSP, suggesting the left hook as the method. Koscheck didn't seem too worried on Monday.
"Freddie Roach can't teach strengthening your chin, and that's where I'm going to hit Georges and knock him out on Saturday," Koscheck said. "And, also, my mom predicts a second-round left-hook knockout, too."
