LAS VEGAS -- Forget hanging around the host hotel. The real hot spot for UFC fighter spotting as fight week begins here is the supermarket.

With three nights and more than 30 scheduled fights this week, there are more than 60 fighters in need of the proper food and nutrition to help them stay energized while losing 10-15 pounds in four days.

Newsday tagged along with Ryan LaFlare of Lindenhurst as he went food shopping at Whole Foods on Las Vegas Boulevard just south of the Strip. Spotted in the aisles as LaFlare searched for the right food combinations were Paige VanZant, Joe Lauzon and several others on Thursday’s and Friday’s fight cards.

Watch the video above as LaFlare and trainers Keith Trimble and Gregg DePasquale stock up on lean foods, low sodium and lots of water.
