Expos are basically just hand-on window shopping for those willing to pay the admission price.
Once you sort through all the MMA apparel and equipment exhibitors, you might find the second annual MMA World Expo in New York City this weekend has to offer a few more things.
Here's a rundown of what's happening this weekend at the Jacob Javits Center.
Fighter autograph signing sessions
Friday, 6-9 p.m.: Fabricio Werdum, Dan Miller, Jim Miller, Shane del Rosario
Saturday, 12-1:30 p.m.: Jon "Bones"Jones, Carlos Condit, Kru Phil Nurse
Saturday, 1:30-3 p.m.: Tom Galicchio, Byron Byrd, Kenny "Deuce" Garner
For $30, you can get 60 minutes of on-the-mat training with Renzo Gracie, Marcelo Garcia, Rolles Gracie, Jimmy Pedro, Vitor "Shaolin" Ribeiro, Master Ricardo Liborio (American Top Team) and Hamid Kermanshah. Those who register in advance will also get a 90-minute bonus session with Rolles Gracie on Friday at 8 p.m.
The Renzo Gracie No-Gi Open 2010 features more than 60 divisions and approximately 1,000 competitors going for the gold in the first-ever "Open" tournament offered by the Renzo Gracie Academy.
The Amateur Muay Thai Tournament (sanctioned by WKA) showcases fighters trying to kick and punch their way to the grand prize of two round-trip tickets to Thailand. The tourney is by invite-only, but you can buy a ticket to watch for $45. The fights start at 6 p.m Friday.
