Ben Roethlisberger is a good buy low. The offensive line has been awful and suffered some injuries last week, which is why Rashard Mendenhall has struggled. The Steelers have been able to overcome it in the past. Roethlisberger has averaged 314 yards per game with just three TDs and four INTs. The schedule gets easier and the TDs will come.
There’s no doubting the talent of Ryan Mathews and it was on prominent display last week. Was it because the Chargers wanted to feature him or Mike Tolbert was limited due to injury? It seems like Tolbert’s touches were limited last week because of the calf injury. Mathews missed practice Thursday because of a foot injury and is expected to practice Friday. Tolbert is still in the mix for now.
Tony Romo was terrific last week, but the fantasy numbers weren’t. The offensive line struggled, Dez Bryant was limited and the rest of the receivers had no idea what they were doing. Expect Romo to improve when Miles Austin returns.
Jonathan Stewart has looked much better than DeAngelo Williams, yet the two will split carries. Williams is making $43 million, so the Panthers will not abandon him.
In a deeper league consider Bears WR Dane Sanzenbacher. The slot receiver is getting a lot of red zone looks from Jay Cutler and has scored two consecutive weeks.
If Arian Foster plays this week, and he practiced fully Thursday, he’s a good RB2. The Steelers defense isn’t as good as it was.
Just because the Jaguars offense is bad and rookie QB Blaine Gabbert is starting, don’t dismiss Mike Thomas in PPR leagues. He has 26 targets in three games and is the main option in the passing game.
If Lance Moore is available in your league, get him now. Even with the return of Marques Colston, Moore is still a big part of the offense. Devery Henderson and Robert Meachem will be hurt more.
