Key players: Clyde Lovellette (13.9 PPG), Bob Kenney (10.6 PPG), Bob Kurland (9.9 PPG)

Lovellette scored more than 25 points twice in the tournament, including a 27-point outburst in an 85-76 semifinal win against Argentina. The U.S. then took down the Soviet Union, 36-25, in the gold-medal game.
