Amanda Filiberto will start her medical residency in July, and in the interim, she was hoping for some downtime.

So she ran a marathon.

Two weeks later, she ran another.

Filiberto, 26, originally from Northport, won the women's Long Island Marathon at Eisenhower Park in an unofficial time of 3:04.42 and said she uses running to help clear her mind from medical school, which she attends at Virginia Commonwealth University. She just finished running in the Boston Marathon two weeks ago, and this is her fifth ever.

"I kind of use it as a way to destress and keep it together," she said. "I love it and [since] I'm starting my residency, this will be my last marathon for awhile. I figured I'd go out with a bang."
