It seems a lot of people have amnesia when it comes to Owen Daniels. In fantasy sports, players coming off an injury-plagued season get undervalued and that's what I see regarding Daniels in many drafts so far.
He had his third ACL surgery last offseason knee surgery and he wasn’t fully healthy to start last season. He suffered a hamstring injury in the middle of the season and missed several games.
Daniels had 16 catches for 200 yards without a TD in the first seven games before missing five games because of injury. The upside of Daniels was displayed in the final four games. He had 22 catches for 271 yards with two TDs.
Daniels is a big key for the Texans offense. He is the second option in the passing game behind Andre Johnson and will see a lot of targets from Matt Schaub, who likes throwing to Daniels. In 2008, his last full healthy season, he had 70 catches for 862 yards with two TDs.
Don't be afraid to take him as a TE1. Reports from Texans camp say he's in excellent shape and looking good. I have him rated sixth at tight end in a PPR league.
