Many assumed Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun was getting a 50-game suspension for violating MLB's performance enhancing drug policy. The reigning NL MVP successfully appealed his suspension for a positive drug test and will not serve a suspension.
Braun owners in keeper leagues were biting their nails trying to decide if they should keep Braun. The decision is easy now and this is huge news for fantasy players.
Braun is an easy first-round pick and should be top three. A case can be made to take Braun No. 1 overall. This is why early drafts and early decisions on keepers aren't a good idea. I have seen Braun go in the third and fourth round of some real drafts already. That becomes a steal now.
Braun hit .332 with 109 runs, 33 home runs, 111 RBIs, and 33 stolen bases with a .994 OPS. He has a good track record with at least 32 home runs in four of the last five seasons and four consecutive seasons of at least 103 RBIs.
Braun is in the discussion for No. 1 overall pick with Miguel Cabrera, Matt Kemp, and Albert Pujols. Who would you take No. 1?
