The signing of Ryan Madson by the Reds last week was great for his fantasy value. Madson has been one of the best relievers in baseball the past few seasons and the Phillies never seemed to be confident in his ability to be a closer.

Last year Madson showed he can get the job done. He saved 32 of 34. In 60 1/3 innings, he allowed 54 hits and just two home runs. Madson had a 9.20 K/9, 2.37 BB/9, 1.15 WHIP and a 49 percent groundball rate.

Madson will lead an excellent bullpen with Sean Marshall, Aroldis Chapman, Bill Bray, and Nick Masset behind him. Madson replaces Francisco Cordero. Madson is easily a Top 10 closer and could finish Top 5.
