The slumping Tigers called up second baseman Scott Sizemore and sent down the struggling Will Rhymes after last night's game. Sizemore was a top prospect before suffering an injury in the Arizona Fall league prior to the 2010 season. He wasn't 100 percent and it showed in his performance that resulted in him being sent down to the minors. He hit .224 in 163 plate appearances.
Sizemore was tearing up Triple-A batting .408 with a .495 on-base percentage and a .605 slugging percentage with two homers and 15 RBIs in 92 plate appearances. Sizemore has way more upside than Rhymes and should have been with the team to begin the season.
Sizemore is a definite add in AL-only leagues and deserves consideration in deeper mixed leagues.
