It was only a matter of time before one of these games would be decided from that pressure-packed spot 12 yards from goal.

Paraguay continued South America's stunning run at the 2010 World Cup by knocking in all five of their penalty kicks in a shootout victory over Japan, 0-0 (5-3 PKs), in the Round of 16 today in Pretoria.

Oscar Cardozo, Paraguay's fifth kicker, calmly placed his shot into the lower left corner to clinch the win. South America has placed four teams in the quarterfinals -- one in each game. Paraguay will face the winner of this evening's Spain-Portugal winner. Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay have already advanced.
