This announcement won't be as grandiose as last year's World Cup roster unveiling, which was televised live outside ESPN's mega-campus in Connecticut, but it's still a big deal for U.S. fans and players.
The Americans, ranked No. 22 in the world in the latest FIFA rankings, will face No. 76 Canada to open the tournament June 7 in Detroit. The United States has to be thought of as the favorite, but Mexico isn't far behind. El Tri released its roster last week.
Here are my two cents on what might unfold Monday.
G - Howard
D - Cherundolo, Bocanegra, Chandler
M - Bradley, Donovan, Dempsey, Edu, Jones
F - Altidore, Agudelo
In the running (in order of likelihood):
G - Guzan, Hahnemann, Yelldell
D - Onyewu, Ream, DeMerit, Goodson, Bornstein, Lichaj
M - Feilhaber, Bedoya, Kljestan, Spector
F - Gomez, Bunbury, Buddle
G - Cervi
D - Gonzalez
M - Clark, Diskerud, Torres
F - Davies, Findley
That's 11 locks, 16 guys in the running (four of whom won't make it) and seven guys likely left out. Your thoughts as the big day nears? What's your dream starting XI look like? (More Gold Cup news).
