Tiki joining Yahoo?

What's next for Tiki Barber, now that his ill-fated three-year term at NBC is kaput?

"We're close to finalizing a deal with Yahoo for their NFL coverage this coming season,'' his agent, Mark Lepselter, said Thursday.

Barber's contract with NBC Sports expired after last football season, but he was signed to continue contributing to NBC News. NBC severed that relationship after reports in April that he had been having an ongoing affair with a woman he met when she was an NBC intern. GOLF

Delahoussaye shoots 62

Brent Delahoussaye shot an 8-under 62 to match the Canadian Open record in perfect scoring conditions at historic St. George's in Toronto. Delahoussaye also broke the course record of 64 set by Canadian George Knudson in 1968.

Blake in three-way tie

Jay Don Blake shot a 4-under 67 to lead a strong American showing in the opening round of the British Seniors Open in Carnoustie, Scotland. Blake is in a three-way tie for first with Germany's Bernhard Langer and England's Carl Mason. Among the Americans chasing the leaders were U.S. Ryder Cup captain Corey Pavin (69) and Tom Lehman (71).

Pressel tied for lead

Morgan Pressel shot a 6-under 66 to grab a share of the lead after the first round of the Evian Masters in Evian-Les-Bains, France. Michelle Wie (68) was tied for sixth. - AP

Del Potro, Serena on mend

In announcing the men's field for the 2010 U.S. Open, tournament officials held out the same hope of seeing defending champion Juan Martin del Potro as they have for three-time women's winner Serena Williams. Both are rehabilitating injuries. Del Potro, the 21-year-old Argentine, has not played since suffering a wrist injury in January's Australian Open. Williams is recovering from a cut on her right foot sustained shortly after she won Wimbledon in early July.
