Steve Matthews’ Aqueduct selections for Wednesday, Nov. 23

Best bet: BASS RIVER ROAD (2)

Best value: ROOFTOP VIEW (7)

FIRST: Tiz Rae Anna bested a next-out winner when a front-end victor in last; more to come. Woundwithhereyes logged six tight works since breaking maiden in September; dangerous. Toni Tools is another that’s trained sharply since winning last; must consider.

SECOND: Bass River Road was a dominant winner in last at Finger Lakes and owns faster back figures; pairs up. All About Ashley could be in the garden spot if pace meltdown ensues. Onecats Chance is another that would be aided if fractions get fast and furious.

THIRD: Story to Tell notched swift late-pace and final numbers when third in last; keeps on giving. Dom the Bomb is speedy but has failed as the favorite in last three starts; handle with care. Rich ’n’ Tuck wheels back in a hurry and drops after non-threatening seventh in last; improvement expected.

FOURTH: Piazza Del Campo was a flat third in last after game second on turf in prior; rebounds. Radial Flyer compiled consistent work tab for local debut; price will be tempting. Menacing Dennis was a late-running second at 46-1 last time out; must be factored into the mix.

FIFTH: Big Guy Ian is fleet-footed and 1-for-1 at the Big A; primed and ready. Dannie’s Deceiver gets class relief and owns fast figures; very playable. Alex the Terror, 2-for-2 at Aqueduct, is training sharply for first start since March; right in the thick of this.

SIXTH: Distorted Dream is firing bullets for first start in 230 days; Gary Contessa barn logs profitable numbers with layoffs in this time frame. Grey Glory was a clear-cut winner in last; dangerous. Beach Hut outworked 81 rivals in half-mile drill Nov. 12 and owns fast figures on best efforts.

SEVENTH: Rooftop View unleashed sustained rally to win last and could pair up victories at playable price. Zigarch, another that ran late to win last, is lightly raced with ample room for continued development. River Knight is speedy and has finished second at long odds in last two starts; worth long look.

EIGHTH: Global Positioning fired half-mile bullet since tough trip in last; takes this on “A” game. Brimstone owns a win and a second in two starts at the Big A; dangerous. Eden Ridge returns from Finger Lakes after hard-charging placing in last; must consider.

NINTH: Colonel Andy owns sprinter’s speed and projects as the dominant front-runner if able to escape AE list. Catapult Jack is another fleet-footed AE; must be considered if able to scratch into body of race. Clear Surprise is training with a purpose for first start in 367 days; big-time threat. Ezra could impact if pace meltdown ensues; dangerous. Southern Union was a fast-figured third in last; must consider.
