Steve Matthews’ Saratoga selections for Wednesday, July 27

Best Value: SARAH SIS (8)

FIRST: Unsinkable was a dominant winner over Parx jumps last time. Help From Heaven also was an impressive victor in last. Albany Road owns a win over the Spa fences.

SECOND: Saratoga Charlie tallied improved pace figure in last; cutback to sprint plays to strength. Sebonack compiled tight work tab for first start in more than a year. Trappe debuts for Steve Asmussen; follow the money.

THIRD: Giant Fox should pack enhanced kick with cutback to sprint. Manhattan Johnnie is a front-running threat on “A” game. To the Victor needed last and owns fast back numbers.

FOURTH: Stroke Play has the benefit of the rail and should move forward in second start since six-month layoff. Jules N Rome, an uncoupled barn mate (Danny Gargan) of top selection, is fresh and consistently logs fast figures. Going for Broke has delivered strong efforts in all three starts; right in the thick of this.

FIFTH: Mare Irish Dancer projects as the main speed in turf debut. Conquest Bad Girl displayed good late kick in debut on Gulfstream grass; very dangerous. So Fancy makes first turf start for Chad Brown; need more?

SIXTH: Theatric is speedy and could capitalize on uncontested lead in compact field. Blenheim Palace tallied swift late-pace figure when besting top selection by nearly a length on July 3; very playable. Tale for Ruby is training with a purpose for first start in 213 days; don’t ignore.

SEVENTH: Captain Gaughen turns back to shorter sprint and should possess amplified late wallop. Asset Inflation set fast fractions when a front-running winner in last; could easily pair up victories. Doctor J Dub ships north after determined score in last on Gulfstream sod; price will be tempting.

EIGHTH: Sarah Sis notched solid final fraction when a front-end winner in last at Arlington Park and can score from stalker’s seat, as well. Disco Chick owns sizzling speed and could play out as the swiftest of the swift. Paulassilverlining has won three of last four; logical, short-priced player.

NINTH: Justa Lady is fleet-footed and fired 5-furlong bullet on the Spa sod last week; wire to wire. Tent City is 3-for-3 and will be in the garden spot if top selection hits the wall in the stretch. Rumble Doll owns two wins and two thirds in four starts on Saratoga turf; right in the thick of this.

TENTH: Sly Tom was pace compromised when a close-up fourth in last at Monmouth; forward move predicted. Irish Cat is rested and owns fast figures on best efforts. Town Extension was empty when favored in last at Churchill Downs but looms a big-time threat on “A” game. Tambourin drops and makes third stateside start; worth long look.
