The USTA just released the opening days' schedule of feature matches, and the lineup in Arthur Ashe Stadium is loaded with heavy hitters with five-time champion Roger Federer batting cleanup in the final match of the night session against Argentina's Brian Dabul.
Center court play begins with last year's darling, Melanie Oudin in an 11 a.m. match against an opponent who has not yet been determined by the qualifying process. Oudin will be followed in the afternoon session by defending womens' champion Kim Clijsters of Belgium going against Hungary's Greta Arn and then American Andy Roddick facing Stephane Robert of France.
The night session begins with Venus Williams going against Roberta Vinci of Italy followed by Federer's match.
The best match in the day session in Louis Armstrong Stadium might be 24th-seeded Slovakian Daniela Hantuchova against Russia's Dinara Safina, a former world No. 1, who has fallen to 59th. The second match in the Grandstand session features fifth-seeded Robin Soderling of Sweden against a still unknown qualifier, while Serbian favorite Ana Ivanovic faces Russian Ekaterina Makarova in the day's final Grandstand match.
