The heat has started to take its toll on patrons at the U.S. Open. Upon entering Arthur Ashe Stadium for the Novak Djokovic/Viktor Troici match, two women were sitting the floor in the concession area with oxygen masks. U.S. Open officials were on the scene aiding the women with ice water and shade.

Baseball at the Open?

In the shadows of Citi Field plenty of Met fans have made their way to the U.S. Open, more so than Yankee fans. Just walking around the grounds at the Open, there are way more Met shirts than Yankee shirts. Of course, mostly Jose Reyes and David Wright with a few Johan Santana sprinkled in. Francisco Rodriguez's number 75 was no where to be seen.

I spotted a handful of Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez shirts. Most Yankee fans just decided to just wear a cap instead of shirt.
