Updated U.S. Open schedule goes into Monday

Weather played quite a role in the schedule at the U.S. Open the past few days. Here's a look at the updated match schedule released by the USTA, and it includes movement in the championship matches.

Men’s singles quarterfinals (Session #20)
Remaining quarterfinals to be played on Friday; Gates open at 10 a.m. Tickets from the originally cancelled Session #20 (Wednesday, Sept. 7) night session will  be honored.

Men’s singles semifinals (Session #24)
Remains as scheduled for Saturday day, Sept. 10; Gates open at 10 a.m.

Women’s singles semifinals (Session #23)
Originally scheduled for Friday, they are now rescheduled for Saturday night; Gates open at 6 p.m. Serena Williams is in the semifinals and will play the winner of Thursday night's match between Caroline Wozniacki and Andrea Petkovic.

Women’s singles final (Session #25)
Rescheduled for Sunday, Sept. 11  at 4 p.m.; Gates open at 11 a.m.; Doubles match TBD.

Men’s singles final (Session #26)
Rescheduled for Monday, Sept. 12 at 4 p.m.; Gates open at 11 a.m.; Doubles match TBD.

“We revised the schedule for the remainder of the 2011 U.S. Open in an effort to be fair to
the players and our ticketholders," tournament director Jim Curley wrote in a statement sent to the media. "This is the result of a collaborative effort with the players, CBS Sports and tournament officials to address the issues that arose from the inclement weather earlier this week.”
