Annie Park a step closer to earning LPGA Tour card

Levittown's Annie Park advanced out of the first stage of the LPGA Qualifying Tournament, finishing second last week at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California.

Park finished with a score of 68-72-72-69-281 (7-under). Park now advances to the second stage of qualifying from Sept. 30-Oct. 4 at Plantation Golf & Country Club in Venice, Florida.

The top 80 players plus ties will advance to the final stage, which will consist of 90 holes of play at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Flordida, from Dec 3-7. The top finishers will earn their tour cards for the 2015 LPGA season.

Park, who just began her junior year at USC, competed in the U.S. Women's Amateur at Nassau Country Club last month and also represented the U.S. in the Curtis Cup in June.
