Here's a perfect example of the importance of perspective. If you're a dog lover, you just might think this is the greatest thing you've ever heard of. If you're not, you might think it's ridiculous. I'm not here to judge, just report on a deal of which you may or may not want to avail yourself.
The pet-friendly -- to say the least -- historic Hermosa Inn near Scottsdale, in Paradise Valley, Ariz. (one of Condé Nast Traveler’s top small resorts in the world, by the way), has a new package for guests who want to travel with their dogs. Starting at $599 per night, the package includes a one-night stay in a Casita, Deluxe Casita or Grand Casita, a welcome boutique-y treat for Fido and fruit and bottled water for you. There's more: Your dog will get a 60-minute in-room canine massage from one of the only licensed canine massage therapists in Arizona while you get a 60-minute in-room spa treatment. Other perks include the Doggie Tuck in to Bed -- a dog walk plus dog movie (think “Lassie” or “101 Dalmatians”), breakfast in bed for both of you and standard dog amenities like a dog bed and bowl.
Tax and tips are extra, as are additional items you may want to order a la carte, like Pawdicures (dog pedicures), Doga session (dog yoga), extra canine massages, a pet taxi service, half- or full-day spa day care and dog walking.
