City and Town beach


Indian Wells Beach is restricted to East Hampton Town residents. Other beaches, including 2 open to day visitors, are accessible to all with seasonal parking permits (residents free). Obtain permits weekdays at town clerk's office in East Hampton or at the Montauk Playhouse. Day visitors can go to Atlantic Beach, Mon.-Fri. $25 (no weekends or holidays), or Kirk Park daily; free parking. Permit details, 631-324-4142; beach information, 631-324-2417 or ehamptonny.gov.


Also known to locals as "Umbrella Beach" and the "IGA Beach" (because it's close to the IGA supermarket), this beach is equipped with restrooms and is supervised by lifeguards from June-September, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Visitors without a parking permit are charged $10 daily.
