Hamptons nightlife scene includes new clubs, new vibes

Night life in the Hamptons — the South Fork is full of new nightspots. The season’s biggest newcomers have landed in Southampton. Meanwhile, Montauk is back with some fun possibilities for hipsters, but the hamlet is aiming for a calmer vibe.

THE DEAL Upscale food with a late-night club scene
Conveniently only footsteps from the Southampton LIRR station, Jue Lan is an offshoot of a Manhattan spot that serves upscale Chinese cuisine (including a dim sum brunch). But it’s destined to be a night-life draw Thursdays through Saturdays starting at 11 p.m. for its late-night “Elm & Main” party, with celebrity DJs.

WHEN Friday and Saturday evenings
THE DEAL Dance, baby, dance.
A concept from the owner of Southampton restaurants 75 Main and Kozu, AM takes over familiar digs; the space was once home to 1OAK. Now it’s a celebration of hip-hop, with walls dressed in highbrow graffiti art. Guests can order table service, get faux tattoos and grab drinks from bartenders dressed in track suits (a la Run DMC) on the deck. The performance calendar already boasts scheduled appearances by Jadakiss (June 3) and Noreaga (June 10), following the Memorial Day weekend show from Fat Joe (pictured) and DJ Cipha Sounds. There is a cover charge, but if you eat at 75 Main or Kozu before visiting, admission gets reduced — or order up table service and pay no cover; RSVP by texting 516-492-0346 or emailing

WHEN Friday-Sunday evenings
THE DEAL Relax by the pool with DJs — so cool.

WHEN Friday-Saturday nights
THE DEAL A classic party location returns (with two different parties).
There was a time when Hampton Bays was the jewel of summer night life (remember CPI, Neptune Beach Club and Foggy Goggle?). Beach Bar still chugs along, returning for its 24th season equipped with a large deck and an even bigger indoor dance floor. Once more, the “Drift Inn” party (a throwback to Neptune’s in the ’90s) returns, holding court Saturdays — but whichever night you choose, the style is relaxed and relatively affordable.
