Can it be? Memorial Day weekend means famous faces, fundraisers and fun times will once again abound around the East End. Among this weekend's happenings:
1. "Day & Night," the oh-so-popular daytime DJ-powered brunch thrown by the Koch brothers (Derek and Daniel), returns to Gurney's Inn of Montauk Saturday beginning at 2 p.m. It's a Hamptons-definitive sort of affair -- international, well-dressed clientele arrive in great numbers to dance in the sun, dine on haute food and order up Champagne that costs thousands of dollars a bottle.
Want in? Make reservations at dualgroupe.com/portfolio/reservation -- table prices start at $2,500.
2. Reality TV star Charlie O'Connell ("The Bachelor") is hosting the "Books and Bikinis" shindig set for Saturday at The Sloppy Tuna in Montauk. Starting at 11 p.m., the night is a launch party for Montauk-based photographer Grant Monahan's pictorial tome "View From the Window" and a new line of swimwear from designer Annie Perini (also a native). No cover charge.
3. Returning for a fourth edition, the annual "Angel Wings" dinner and fundraiser will be Sunday at Georgica Restaurant and Lounge in Wainscott. Hosted by model Jessica White, the red carpet bash draws celebrities. Tickets are $95 for a three-course dinner, swag bag and after-party (email email@example.com to purchase). Proceeds benefit the bone marrow donor center Delete Blood Cancer.
ON THE CHEAP
The Uniting Against Lung Cancer (UALC) foundation hosts its seventh annual "Kites for a Cure" 4-6 p.m. Saturday at Coopers Beach in Southampton. A $30 donation gets you a kite to fly -- and access to one of the East End's best beaches (parking is free for the event). Details at 212-627- 5500 or unitingagainstlungcancer.org.
