Hyperion, one of the most celebrated yachts in the world, was spotted this week anchored in Gardiner's Bay. The 194-foot sailboat was the largest in the world when it was constructed for Netscape co-founder Jim Clark in 1998. Clark had a team of software designers create touch-screen operating systems, which were installed in various parts of the boat, so he could easily manage the massive ship. Clark has since sold the giant sloop, and in 2006 it won the prestigious Superyacht Cup. Now it seems to have found a more leisurely lifestyle, bobbing up and down among the Beneteaus and the Hinckley Picnic boats of the East End waters.
