Chip Taylor at 230 Elm

Thursday, musician Chip Taylor (Oscar- winning John Voight’s brother) will be performing live at 230 Elm in Southampton. Tickets cost $20 at the door. The night benefits the Junior Golf Scholarship fund. Taylor’s most recent album “Yonkers NY” was released back in 2009. (8 p.m., 230 Elm, 230 Elm St., Southampton)

‘Be Our Guest’ Gala

This Friday, The Advisory Council of Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center will hold the first “Be Our Guest,” a gala benefit with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, catered by Starr Boggs. The event will be held at the Seafield Estate and hosted by WHBPAC board chair Len Conway. Special guests include authors Helen Simonson and Margaret M. Johnson as well as Chef Andrea Click of Le Bernadin. Tickets are $150 each for the cocktail party. Following the cocktail party dinners are being served in private residences in Remsenburg, Quiogue and Quogue but all are full to capacity. Third Annual Best Buddies Hamptons Gala

This Saturday, the Third Annual Best Buddies Hamptons Gala will offer a Southeast Asian-themed even with a cocktail hour, formal gourmet dinner and live and silent auctions. A singing performance will be given by Countess LuAnn de Lesseps of the “Real Housewives of New York City." “So You Think You Can Dance” Season Five winner Jeanine Mason will dance. Brett Banford, a Buddy ambassador who tried out for “So You Think You Can Dance” and performed on the live show, will also perform and live music will follow by Around Town. Prior to the gala on Friday, the Tory Burch boutique in East Hampton will host a kick-off shopping event with portions of the proceeds benefiting Best Buddies International. Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge

This Saturday, the Bridgehampton Polo Club will host the coveted Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge at Blue Star Jets Field. This year’s sponsors include Mercedes-Benz, SWAGG, Blue Star Jets, Ralph Lauren, Patron, La Societe Stella Artois, Smart Water, Pop Chips, Coca-Cola, Bertaud Belieu Wines, Jarlsberg cheese, Zino Platinum Cigars, Crumbs Cupcakes and Bakery, Financial Times, Susan Foster Jewelry and Hamptons Magazine. Matches take place from 4 to 6 p.m.; the VIP tent will host an invitation-only cocktail reception for exclusive guests each Saturday afternoon during the tournament. Dan’s Papers 50th Anniversary

On Saturday, Dan’s Papers is celebrating its 50th anniversary. The night is called “Dan’s Papers 50th Anniversary Celebration: 50 Years 50 Artists.” There will be a cocktail party and art show. The event will benefit the East End Hospice, Group for the East End and Peconic Public Broadcasting. Featured artists include Ted Asnis, Walter Bernard, Nicole Bigar and Priscilla. Best-selling author Dan Rattiner founded Dan’s Papers in 1960. Local artists design each cover. Tickets cost $50. 'On Our Toes in the Hamptons'

It’s the seventh annual “On Our Toes in the Hamptons” this Saturday at a private residence in Water Mill. The night will celebrate the 25th anniversary of world-renowned choreographer Ronald K Brown’s “Evidence, A Dance Company.” The gala will honor Prince Kunle Omilana and Princess Keisha Omilana of Nigeria. There will be signature cocktails by Moet Hennessey USA, hors d’oeuvres by Kyle’s, an online auction on charitybuzz.com and a performance by Evidence of “Ebony Magazine: To a Village.” Tickets range from $250 to $25,000. Brazilian Sunflowers

This Saturday Brazilian singer Bebel Gilberto and DJ Samantha Ronson (seen here) will perform as a benefit for the Association of Community Employment Programs for the Homeless. Gilberto’s only Hamptons performance of the summer will take place at “Girasole,” the Southampton home of Henry Buhl, founder of ACE. The party is sponsered by Sagatiba and Double Cross Vodka together with Balance Water. Tickets start at $150, and tables range in price from $5,000 to $25,000. RID’s sixth annual summer event

New York's Star Doctors Stop Hospital Infections holds a summer brunch to benefit RID, the Committee to Reduce Infection Deaths Founder. Chair Betsy McCaughey and Avis Richards, chief executive and founder of Birds Nest Productions, are hosting the event. This invite-only event will feature a brunch at the home of Richards. 'Hamptons Pursuit Car Rallye'

This Sunday is The Retreat’s third annual “Hamptons Pursuit Car Rallye.” Come cruise the back roads of the Hamptons while following “clues” to find the way to each checkpoint. Hampton Coffee Company is donating the continental breakfast prior to the “shot-gun” start. The event will start at Retreat Boutique in the Bridgehampton Commons. The cruise will stop at a waterside home where lunch will be served. Prizes will be awarded to the winners. Tickets cost $125 and all proceeds benefit The Retreat, a domestic violence agency. Ellen Hermanson Foundation 5K Race

Rep. Tim Bishop and State Sen. Kenneth LaValle will officiate Ellen’s Run 5K Race this Sunday at the Southampton Hospital Parrish Hall. Bishop and LaValle will start the run with more than 1,000 runners for the 15th annual event. Early registration will take place Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon and race day registration runs from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at Parrish Hall.
