Everybody loves a day on the water, but sometimes the logistics - packing, showering, changing - can make it a headache. Whether you want to soak up rays at a local beach or splash around the water park, we tracked down the amenities that will make your day trip just a little sunnier. And isn't that the point?

Beach Comfort

The worst part of a day at the beach can be packing the car to go - and then lugging your beach chairs, umbrellas and coolers down to the water. But Beach Comfort, located at four locations along the boardwalk in Long Beach, has that problem solved: It'll rent you everything you need, so you can travel light.

"We have 250 chairs and 200 umbrellas, and on busy weekends we sell out," owner Bryan Berkery says. "During the week, we get a decent crowd from the train, but weekends and holidays are our busiest."

Along with the rentals, Beach Comfort provides "Comfort Guards" who will set up your chairs, plus a beach guide with local restaurants - including Swingbelly's Beach Side BBQ and The Laurel Luncheonette & Restaurant - who deliver right to you on the sand.

Splish Splash Water Park

Sure, the kids love a day at the water park, but what if Mom and Dad want a little refuge from all the commotion? At Splish Splash in Calverton, families can rent a tiki-hut-style cabana, which offers shade and comfort in a sand-filled oasis away from the noise of the park.

Each cabana accommodates up to six guests with a table, four chairs, two lounge chairs and waiter/waitress service throughout the day. VIP cabanas add on a ceiling fan, locker, mini-fridge and a staffed entrance offering extra security and privacy.

"Renting a cabana gives you a break," says guest Mike Ladanza, 37, of Moriches. "We can eat lunch here, then shower and change the kids before we bring them home."
