Forget dressing up in green and downing Guinness at your local bar.

For the first time ever, people from around the world are invited to march in the St. Patrick's Day People's Parade in Dublin, Ireland on March 17, 2013.

The parade is a tradition in Ireland's capital city, and involves a procession past Dublin landmarks including Dublin Castle and Trinity College with an end point at St. Patrick's Cathedral. Last year it attracted more than 500,000 spectators.

The Aer Lingus Vacation Store is offering marching passes as part of a six-night Dublin vacation package that includes round-trip airfare, six nights in Dublin's Four Seasons Hotel and all taxes and fees.

The opportunity is part of The Gathering 2013, a yearlong celebration of Irish culture that aims to get people from around the world involved.

Optional add-ons include additional nights at the five-star Four Seasons Hotel Dublin or select other bed-and-breakfasts with a car rental, a three-day Dublin Pass that includes entrance to the Dublin Zoo, Guinness Storehouse and more, the Four Seasons' afternoon tea experience, and junior suite or business class upgrades.

The basic People's Parade vacation package cost is currently estimated at $1,208.61 based on two people leaving March 11-14, or $1,425.27 based on two people leaving March 15. Prices are subject to change based on airfare rates and availability.
