The MGM Resorts International hospitality company has brought Vegas flair to New England.
The destination resort operation opened MGM Springfield on Friday, Aug. 24 — a mega-venue with boutique hotel accommodations, fine dining, live entertainment, arcade-style fun, shopping and—perhaps most notable—a state-of-the-art casino.
Long Islanders with an urge to test their luck at this flashy space (about 150 miles from Nassau County) will find close to 2,550 slot machines, poker, more than 100 gaming tables and high-limit VIP possibilities.
Hungry guests can dine at the Mediterranean-Italian Cal Mare restaurant or take it down a notch at the TAP Sports Bar, which features an arcade, big screen TVs and a 10-lane bowling alley in addition to a high-end bar food menu and more than 60 craft beers from which to choose.
Rooms for two range from $199 to $399 per night.
