Radisson Blu debuts in Chicago

Radisson Blu has made its North American debut in a downtown Chicago high-rise. The hotel fills the first 18 floors of the 81-story Aqua tower, offering sweeping views of Chicago from varied-length balconies that create a distinct, undulating facade. It is part of parent company Carlson Hotels Worldwide's $1.5-billion strategy to revitalize the chain in America. The Chicago hotel has 334 guest rooms and suites (December rates from about $170) and an Italian restaurant. It will seek certification from the U.S. Green Building council. The upscale brand already has hotels in Europe, Asia and Africa. – AP
