The Greater Hudson Valley Family Health Center is hosting "From Victim to Victor," a workshop on gender-based violence, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. June 14.
Marla Hanson will be presenting at the workshop. The workshop will feature information on gender-directed violence in our society, the impact of the criminal justice system on the healing process and how to transform violence victimization into a source of strength and a powerful force for change.
Hanson was assaulted in 1986. During the trial, she was subjected to controversial cross-examination by a defense attorney. Since the trial, Hanson has been an advocate for crime victims' Rights.
The event is free and open to the public. Reservations are required.
