ABC News meteorologist Rob Marciano fired for alleged behavior issues, report says

ABC News meteorologist Rob Marciano was fired by the network Tuesday. A network spokesman declined to comment Wednesday, but an X post by Puck News media reporter Dylan Byers cited  "sources familiar" with the nature of his departure.

A particularly prominent on-air presence on "World News Tonight with David Muir," Marciano, 55, often led the broadcast, most recently with reports about the tornadoes in the Midwest. Muir typically began those weather reports with this line: "Rob Marciano is timing it all out for us."

The Puck Report said that "multiple staffers had made complaints about Marciano’s behavior over the years and he was at least temporarily barred from the main GMA set in NYC." A March 2023 report in the New York Post's Page Six first reported that Marciano had been barred from the "Good Morning America" Times Square studios for nearly a year because he had made a colleague "feel uncomfortable." At the time, Page Six reported he had "anger management issues."

After a stint at CNN as a meteorologist, then as co-anchor of "Entertainment Tonight," the Connecticut native joined the weekend edition of "GMA" in 2014. Along with "GMA," he later reported for various ABC News platforms.

Months after Page Six published its report, Marciano celebrated 10 years with ABC News in an Instagram post in September. “I couldn’t be more pumped to continue this journey with all of you,” he wrote, according to the Los Angeles Times.

His post described the meteorologist's continued contributions to ABC News programming, and spoke of the opportunity to spend “more quality time with my kiddos on the weekends.”

Marciano added: “My thanks to the bosses who listened and made this work-life balance possible. I’m also grateful for an exciting new project with NatGeo that has me exploring some very very cool stuff … more to come!”

Marciano couldn't be reached for comment.
