City Councilman Bill Perkins has dreamed of someday
inheriting the congressional seat held by Charles Rangel, the lion of Harlem
politics.
Then he stepped on the lion's tail.
Perkins stood with Al Gore and Howard Dean last month as the former vice
president endorsed the former Vermont governor for president. Perkins also has
endorsed Dean.
