This past Saturday night, the final steamed lobster was served at Riverbay, a longtime seafood destination on Willis Avenue in Williston Park. The restaurant is now part of local history.

Riverbay’s owner, Dean Poll, who also owns The Boathouse in Central Park, said he is currently too busy in Manhattan to think about reprising Riverbay elsewhere, but, he added, “If I found the right property,  I would consider it.”

Poll has leased the property to TD Bank, which will open a branch with a drive-through lane. “Maybe we could open a fast food window there,” he quipped.

Grab a lobster roll while you make a cash withdrawal? Poll may be onto something.
