Islanders need this rivalry; rivalry needs Tortorella
Whether they knew it or not, and they probably didn't, the Islanders had been on the verge of the one loss they just couldn't afford. If not for the inspired effort, strong finish and solid win Wednesday night, they would have been that much closer to letting their rivalry with the Rangers slip away.
From what we witnessed at Nassau Coliseum, it sure looks like the bitterness has a future....
