This is a good time to explain again the glaring disparity in federal payments to Medicare Advantage from one county to another.

First, it will be open season from Nov. 15 to Dec. 31 to choose or change your coverage for 2010. And the health reform legislation heading toward a showdown may include cuts in those federal payments, which could affect your insurer.
