Community Profile

The rolling hamlet of Farmingville has one of the highest points on Long Island - Bald Hill, the site of Vietnam Memorial Park, which features a soaring obelisk-shaped monument painted in the colors of the American Flag.

While the area is largely residential, lively thoroughfares, including Horseblock Road, provide strip shopping centers, restaurants and services.

Housing styles range from small original capes, ranches and cottages to larger Colonials, split-levels, high-ranches and contemporaries. Although in limited supply, newer homes, including some in the Victorian style, are available.

Fairfield Properties has built 371 luxury town house rental units, called Fairfield Hills North and South, across the street from each other on Bicycle Path.

The Town of Brookhaven's Bald Hill Amphitheatre and Cultural Center is located near the town's offices.

Students attend Sachem, the largest suburban school district in the state.
