Multiple NICE buses caught fire Saturday night at Cedar Creek Park in Seaford, prompting a multi-department response to tame the blaze.

Wantagh firefighters were dispatched just after 6 p.m. Saturday where they discovered approximately 10 Nassau County municipal buses engulfed in flames, Nassau County Assistant Fire Marshal James Hickman told Newsday. The buses, which were out of service, were in a back lot and parked close together, he said. Nassau County police said the fire was isolated to the bus lot.

It’s unclear what started the fire, but Hickman said the agency is not eliminating the possibility of arson. The fire was severe and might have been a second alarm, he said. Three fire departments responded; crews battled the blaze for about an hour.

No injuries were reported.
