One westbound lane of Lido Boulevard in Lido Beach is open on Thursday after a large sinkhole snarled traffic there on Wednesday, officials said.
The sinkhole had been blocking two lanes at Lido Boulevard and Regent Drive. It was first reported Wednesday morning, according to Nassau County Traffic Management. Officials warned to expect delays in the area.
“The Department of Public Works is aware of a sewer collapse on Lido Beach Boulevard. Thankfully, there have been no reported injuries,” Nassau County spokesman Chris Boyle said. “We have been in contact with Veolia [Water company] who manages the county’s sewers, and they already have a crew on scene working to remedy the situation.”
