Stick stars: Long Island's top boys and girls lacrosse performers this week

Long Island saw stardom thrive this week, which featured three lacrosse players reaching major milestones in their high-school careers.
Commack senior Brandon Berozi earned his 200th career point in a 13-6 win over Connetquot on May 2. He totaled four goals and an assist.
Mattituck sophomore Gianna Calise scored her 100th goal and totaled 14 goals and three assists, leading the Tuckers to wins over Hampton Bays, Kings Park and East Hampton/Bridgehampton/Pierson/Ross.
In Nassau, Mepham senior Liam Williams tallied his 100th career assist in a 13-0 win against Sewanhaka on May 1. He totaled nine assists and a goal.
In addition to the three players above, here are some other top performers from the lacrosse field.
BOYS
Thomas Girimonti, Huntington: Girimonti had a 15-point week with 12 goals and three assists in victories over Middle Country and Bay Shore.
Cameron James, Smithtown East: James had five goals and four assists to help Smithtown East defeat Sachem East, 15-12. He added another six points against Whitman.
Quinn Langton, St. Anthony’s: Langton totaled eight goals and six assists (14 points) in wins against Kellenberg and Fordham Prep.
Cody McClean, New Hyde Park: McClean scored six of New Hyde Park's seven first-quarter goals in a 16-4 win over Glen Cove.
Andrew McKenzie, Mattituck: McKenzie stopped 42 shots and allowed just 12 goals in wins over Bellport, Eastport-South Manor and Port Jefferson.
Michael Melkonian, South Side: He had five points and won 50 of 59 faceoffs (84.7%) in victories over Roslyn, Manhasset and Massapequa.
Sal Santoro, Half Hollow Hills: Santoro made 20 saves against South Fork and stopped another 11 shots against Floyd. He made 19 saves against Ward Melville.
Matt Triolo, Glenn: He had 13 goals and four assists (17 points) against Comsewogue, Center Moriches and Mt. Sinai.
GIRLS
Tess Calabria, St. Anthony’s: She had seven goals and four assists in St. Anthony's 11-6 win over Sacred Heart. It was her second 11-point game of the season.
Emery DeLauzon, Locust Valley: She made 14 saves in Locust Valley’s 5-4 win over Bethpage, including a key stop within the final two minutes.
Reese King, Westhampton: Her five goals and four draw controls helped Westhampton defeat Comsewogue, 10-7. She also had three goals, an assist and nine draw controls in a big 10-6 win over Smithtown West in Suffolk II.
Krista Lee, Hewlett: Her 10 goals and six assists led Hewlett to dominant wins over Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK and Hicksville.
Leila Paz, Carey: She scored nine goals of Carey’s 11 goals in its 12-11 loss to Herricks. Paz also scored four goals in the Seahawks’ win over Elmont on Monday.
Addison Ruland, Patchogue-Medford: She had 12 goals and six assists for Patchogue-Medford, which won consecutive games against Lindenhurst, North Babylon and Middle Country.
Paige Selhorn, Carle Place: She totaled eight goals and eight assists in two games, including four goals and five assists in a 16-10 win over Roslyn.
Page Kellershon, Mattituck: Her 11 assists and five goals across three games helped Mattituck extend its winning streak to six with one game left in the regular season.
Jenna Soto, Smithtown East: Soto had 11 goals and seven assists across three games this week, including a 10-point performance (four goals, six assists) in Smithtown East’s 15-4 win over Brentwood.
Ava Stanza, Herricks: She scored seven goals, including the overtime winner in the Highlanders’ 12-11 win over Carey.
