Police seek public's help in finding missing forklift

Suffolk police are seeking the public's help in

Suffolk County police are asking for the public's help in finding one or more unidentified people who allegedly stole a gold and black Caterpillar forklift from the Bejay Auto Parts in Riverhead earlier this month.

A flatbed tow truck with a white cab was used to remove the forklift from the premises. 

The incident occurred on Aug. 11 between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Nassau bus routes adjusted for school year

Nassau bus riders should see some schedule changes starting Sunday.

Nassau Inter-County Express officials said the changes are mostly “minor tweaks” to adjust to the fall school year, including the reinstatement of N6X college service between the Rosa Parks Hempstead Transit Center and Nassau Community College/Hofstra University.

Baby deer rescued from East Moriches construction site

A baby white-tailed deer was rescued in East

A baby deer that paid a visit to a East Moriches house that was still under construction found itself trapped Sunday morning inside the home’s basement.

The Suffolk County Police received a call at 11:20 a.m. that the fawn was stuck inside the foundational walls of a property being erected at 116 Sycamore Dr., according to a police spokeswoman.
